Amendment #1069 to H3400

Early Ed Quality Programming

Representatives Gregoire of Marlborough, Arciero of Westford, Carvalho of Boston, Donahue of Worcester, Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Kafka of Stoughton, Khan of Newton, Madaro of Boston, McMurtry of Dedham, Moran of Lawrence, Nangle of Lowell and Puppolo of Springfield move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 3000-7050, in line 20 by striking the figure “3,000,000” and inserting in place thereof the figure “4,000,000” and further amend the item by striking the figure of “19,464,890” and inserting in place thereof the figure “21,464,890” and further amend the item in line 31 after the word “programming” by inserting the following:

 

“(f) provided that not less than thirty three percent of these funds shall be for direct grants to early education and school age programs participating in the Massachusetts Quality Rating Information System that are actively engaged in efforts to achieve Level 3 and Level 4 in order to improve quality in the early education and school age system of care”.
