Amendment #216 to H3400

Permanently Fixing Number of Members on Ward and Town Committees

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Hill of Ipswich, Poirier of North Attleborough, Gifford of Wareham, Frost of Auburn and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill by adding the following new section:-

“SECTION XX. Chapter 52 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking section 9 in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following new section:-

SECTION 9. Ward and town committees, respectively, are to be elected at the presidential primaries. The number of members of such ward or town committee to be elected shall be thirty-five members.”.
