Performance Incentive Fund

Mr. Garballey of Arlington moves to amend the bill, in section 2, in item 7066-0025, by striking it out in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following:-

“For the Performance Management Set Aside incentive program for the University of Massachusetts, state universities and community colleges; provided, that such funds shall be distributed by the commissioner of higher education to public institutions of higher education through a competitive grant process based on priorities determined by the board of higher education in pursuit of operational efficiency and goals articulated in the commonwealth's Vision Project; provided further, that funds shall be expended as required to adopt and publish a standard core of course offering and numbering that is honored for common credit toward degrees and certificates across the commonwealth's community colleges, state universities and University of Massachusetts campuses and that this work shall be completed by June 30, 2017; and provided further, that not more than $500,000 shall be made available through said grants for programs that focus on timely or accelerated student completion of associate and bachelor degree programs with lower and more predictable student costs

And further by striking out the figure "$3,250,000" and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- "$4,256,503".
