Amendment #429 to H3400

Regional School District Retirement Assessments

Mr. Vieira of Falmouth moves to amend the bill by adding the following sections:

“SECTION XXXX. Chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after Section 28N, the following section:-

Section 28O. Notwithstanding the provisions of sections one to twenty-eight, inclusive, or any other general or special law to the contrary, those regional school districts which prior to 2014 had never received an assessment from the State Board of Retirement for payment of a pro rata share of the retirement allowance or pension paid to non-teacher retirees who had worked for said districts under this Chapter shall be exempt from paying such assessments that are attributable to calendar year 2014 or before.

SECTION XXXX.  This section shall take effect upon its passage.”
