Amendment #468 to H3400

for encouraging and rewarding innovation in state government

Mr. Mannal of Barnstable moves to amend the bill in Section 2, in line item XXXX-XXXX, by inserting the following:

 

"provided that the Executive Office(s) shall establish an employee suggestion program to encourage and reward individual employees for sharing practical ideas that benefit the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by improving efficiency, enhancing service, or generating savings or revenue. Provided further that under the program when a non-management employee of the Commonwealth makes a suggestion that is implemented, said employee shall be financially rewarded with a bonus of not less than $100 and not more than $10,000 according to the value saved or revenue earned by the Commonwealth as a result of the employee's innovation."
