Amendment #556 to H3400

Fernald Pool

Representatives Hecht of Watertown, Lawn of Watertown and Stanley of Waltham move to amend the bill by adding the following section:

"SECTION XXXX. The division of capital asset management and maintenance shall carry out a study of the Greene Pool at the Fernald Center in the city of Waltham.  The study shall determine the financial, management, legal, and other measures necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the Greene Pool as a therapeutic pool for persons with disabilities.  In carrying out the study, the division shall coordinate with and seek input from the department of developmental services, the city of Waltham, and organizations and individuals currently utilizing the Greene Pool.  The division shall complete the study and issue a report containing its findings and recommendations by no later than December 31, 2015.  While the study is being carried out and through June 30, 2016, the division and the department of developmental services shall maintain the current level of service and hours of operation at the Greene Pool".
