Amendment #638 to H3400

Representatives Decker of Cambridge, Rogers of Cambridge, DuBois of Brockton, Lawn of Watertown, Fox of Boston, Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Toomey of Cambridge, Khan of Newton, Provost of Somerville, Ultrino of Malden, Madaro of Boston, Smizik of Brookline, Scibak of South Hadley, Barber of Somerville and Tosado of Springfield move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4400-1000, by inserting after the words “determination of eligibility under said chapter 118E,” the following:- provided further, that the department shall not deny, terminate, reduce or fail to recertify assistance if the department has received documents from or on behalf of the household and has not yet processed the documents to determine their effect on eligibility; provided further, that the department shall offer households the option of authorizing the department to contact third parties directly to obtain third-party information relevant to eligibility.
