Amendment #639 to H3400

Representatives Decker of Cambridge, Rogers of Cambridge, Lawn of Watertown, Fox of Boston, Donahue of Worcester, Hecht of Watertown, Provost of Somerville and Toomey of Cambridge move to amend the bill (H. 3400) in section 2, item 7004-0108 by striking out the words “ provided further, that a family that was terminated from the program or did not make a good faith effort to follow its housing stabilization plan during the term of its assistance shall be ineligible for benefits under item 7004-0101 and this item for 24 months from the last date the family received assistance under this item and item 7004-0101, including housing stabilization and economic self-sufficiency case management services;” and inserting in place thereof the words: -

 

provided further, that a family that was terminated from the program or did not make a good faith effort to follow its housing stabilization plan during the term in which it was receiving financial assistance from this item toward rent, utilities or moving costs shall be ineligible for benefits under item 7004-0101 and this item for up to 12 months from the last date the family received financial assistance from this item; provided further, that this bar to future eligibility for assistance under either item may be waived by the department in cases in which its application would not be fair, just or equitable in light of all the circumstances;
