Alzheimer’s Public Awareness and Education
Representatives Garlick of Needham, Mark of Peru, Fox of Boston, Ultrino of Malden, Khan of Newton, Brodeur of Melrose, Ashe of Longmeadow, Vega of Holyoke, Cutler of Duxbury, Cronin of Easton, Finn of West Springfield, Rogers of Cambridge, Cantwell of Marshfield, Cullinane of Boston, Dwyer of Woburn, DiZoglio of Methuen, McMurtry of Dedham, Muratore of Plymouth, Lawn of Watertown, Galvin of Canton, Brady of Brockton, Decker of Cambridge, Kafka of Stoughton, Gregoire of Marlborough, Coppinger of Boston, Schmid of Westport, Collins of Boston, Walsh of Framingham, Sannicandro of Ashland, Ayers of Quincy and Rogers of Norwood move to amend the bill, in section 2 by inserting after item 4590-2001 the following new item:
“4590-#### For statewide public awareness and education, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, including the early warning signs of Alzheimer's disease, access to patient services, and the importance of family caregiver education and support, provided through a grant to be administered by a statewide Alzheimer's advocacy and education organization………$200,000"
