Amendment #724 to H3400

An Act providing for increased transparency in public construction contracts

Mr. Mirra of West Newbury moves to amend the bill by adding at the end thereof the following new section:-

“SECTION XX. Chapter 30 of the General Laws, as appear in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following new section: -

‘Notwithstanding any special or general law, rule or regulation to the contrary all public construction contracts over $10,000 must be made open to the public through publication with local news outlets. All parties within the contract must make all reasonable effort to inform members of the community of the contract.”.
