Reading Recovery

Representatives Coppinger of Boston, Peake of Provincetown, Honan of Boston, Malia of Boston, Livingstone of Boston, Smizik of Brookline, Scibak of South Hadley, Khan of Newton, Decker of Cambridge, Rogers of Norwood, Rogers of Cambridge, Collins of Boston, Fox of Boston, Hunt of Boston, Madaro of Boston, Ultrino of Malden, Calter of Kingston, DiNatale of Fitchburg, DiZoglio of Methuen, Hecht of Watertown, Ashe of Longmeadow, Fiola of Fall River, Mark of Peru, Straus of Mattapoisett, Toomey of Cambridge and Cullinane of Boston move to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 7030-1002 the following item:

 

“7030-1005 For Reading Recovery, a 1-to-1 early intervention individual tutorial literacy program designed as a pre-special education referral and short –term intervention for children who are at risk of failing to read in the first grade; provided, that said program shall provide ongoing documentation and evaluation of results..............$300,000.”
