Employment Services Program - DTA

Representatives Khan of Newton, Cabral of New Bedford, Sannicandro of Ashland, Devers of Lawrence, Decker of Cambridge, Carvalho of Boston, Barber of Somerville, Gordon of Bedford, Gregoire of Marlborough, Hecht of Watertown, Madaro of Boston, Schmid of Westport, Provost of Somerville, Toomey of Cambridge, Tosado of Springfield, Ultrino of Malden, Rogers of Cambridge, Fox of Boston and Balser of Newton move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4401-1000, in line 2 by inserting after “program;” the following: "provided further, that the department shall spend no less than amount spent in fiscal year 2015 for the young parents program and the competitive integrated employment services program; provided further, that funds from this line item shall be spent to provide reimbursement for transportation costs for recipients in approved education or training programs or performing paid work in an amount equal to the actual costs of the most reasonable and practical mode of transportation or $80 per month, whichever is less; provided further, that the department shall spend no less than the amount spent in fiscal year 2015 for stipends for the DTA Works internship program; and in said item by striking out the figures “$5,000,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures "$11,802,537".
