Amendment #1038 to H4200

DEP - TURI Program Funding

Representatives Schmid of Westport, Cutler of Duxbury, Mom of Lowell, Rogers of Cambridge, Smizik of Brookline, Dykema of Holliston, Ehrlich of Marblehead, Keefe of Worcester, Cantwell of Marshfield, Madden of Nantucket, Cabral of New Bedford, Khan of Newton, Fiola of Fall River, Silvia of Fall River, Provost of Somerville, Mannal of Barnstable, Mahoney of Worcester, Kocot of Northampton, Kaufman of Lexington, Gonzalez of Springfield, Cariddi of North Adams and McMurtry of Dedham move to amend the bill, in section 2, in line 2210-0106, in line 5, by inserting after the words, “penalties, grants and tuition under said chapter 21I;” the following:-

“provided, that not less than $1,629,860 from this item shall be made available for the operation of the toxics use reduction institute program at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell; provided further, that the department shall enter into an interagency service agreement with the University of Massachusetts to make such funding available for this purpose; provided further, that not less than $644,096 from this item shall be made available for toxics use reduction technical assistance and technology in accordance with said chapter 21I; provided further, that the department shall enter into an interagency service agreement with the executive office for energy and environmental affairs to make such funding available for this purpose;”.
