Amendment #1087 to H4200

Home Care Aide Training Fund

Representatives Barber of Somerville, Fox of Boston, Gentile of Sudbury, Gonzalez of Springfield, Gordon of Bedford, Heroux of Attleboro, Khan of Newton, Rogers of Cambridge, Ultrino of Malden and Toomey of Cambridge move to amend the bill in section 2, by inserting after item 9110-1633 the following new item:

"9110-XXXX For the provision of training to further the professional competencies of the workforce serving the consumers of the home care program under section 4 of chapter 19A of the General Laws by establishing a Massachusetts Direct Care Workforce Development Program will expand and maintain a workforce development program that will increase and foster retention of a trained and qualified direct care workforce that is prepared to meet the long-term care needs of elders and individuals with disabilities, helping to reduce readmissions to hospitals or other institutional facilities, and providing smoother transitions to the home and community based settings.....$1,000,000”
