Amendment #1268 to H4200

Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Representatives Schmid of Westport, Haddad of Somerset, Cabral of New Bedford, Howitt of Seekonk, Silvia of Fall River, Fiola of Fall River, Orrall of Lakeville and Koczera of New Bedford move to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 7100-0200 the following item:

7100-0220 provided that $800,000 shall be made available for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth to promote and support economic partnerships and technological advancements through investments necessary to connect early stage entrepreneurs, innovators and technology-based start-ups, including but not limited to, entrepreneurs actively engaged in the fields of biomedical engineering, clean technology and marine technology, with workforce development programs, strategic business planning resources, technical support services and access to and use of state of the art incubator space to support the growth of early-stage entrepreneurs, innovators and technology-based start-ups.
