Amendment #250 to H4200

Appropriate Care Settings for MassHealth ACS Patients

Mr. Mariano of Quincy moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

“SECTION XX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, managed care organizations that contract with MassHealth to provide and coordinate care for Medicaid residents between the ages of 22 and 65 shall be required when clinically appropriate to utilize skilled nursing facilities as an appropriate substitute for hospital services for low acuity ambulatory care sensitive conditions.”
