Amendment #385 to H4200

Foster Parent Continued Background Checks

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Hill of Ipswich, Poirier of North Attleborough, Gifford of Wareham, Frost of Auburn and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill by adding the following new section:-

“SECTION XX. Section 1. Section 8 of chapter 15D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 77, after the words “be subject to” the following:- bi-annual

Section 2. Section 26A of chapter 119 of the General Laws, as most recently amended by chapter 46 of the acts of 2015, is hereby further amended by inserting at the end of subsection (a) the following sentence:-The department shall bi-annually conduct fingerprint-based checks of the state and national criminal history databases for all applicants licensed as a foster parent who wish to maintain continued licensure and for all members of the household, age 15 and older.”
