Amendment #440 to H4200

Recovery High Schools

Mr. Sannicandro of Ashland moves to amend the bill in Section 2 by inserting, after item 7035-0008, the following item:-

7035-XXXX For reimbursements to cities, towns, and regional school districts for the cost of transportation of resident pupils as required by subsection (f) of section 91 of chapter 71 of the General Laws; provided, that the commonwealth’s obligation shall not exceed the amount appropriated in this item ........ $1,200,000

 

and further, by adding the following new section:-

Section XX. Section 91 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following new subsection:-

 

(f) A municipality wherein a student resides who is admitted to a Recovery High School , shall, when necessary, provide for the transportation of such student, and shall, subject to appropriation, be entitled to state reimbursement to the full extent of the amount expended. Such municipality shall not be required to pay, but is not barred from paying, for any eligible student to be transported in a manner that requires the student to remain in the vehicle for more than one hour each way.
