Amendment #466 to H4200

Veteran Residency for Medicaid

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Hill of Ipswich, Poirier of North Attleborough, Gifford of Wareham, Frost of Auburn and Smola of Warren moves to amend the bill by adding the following new section:-

SECTION X. Section 8 of chapter 118E of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of paragraph h, in line 50, the following two sentences:-

“A person completing any military obligations shall be deemed to “reside” in the commonwealth regardless of their relocation to fulfill said obligations. Proof of residence in the commonwealth shall be satisfied by maintaining voter registration, vehicle registration, driver’s license, or paying state income taxes to the commonwealth.”.
