Amendment #520 to H4200
Pediatric & Adult Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Pilot Program
Representatives Ferguson of Holden, Ashe of Longmeadow, DeCoste of Norwell, D'Emilia of Bridgewater, Dwyer of Woburn, Fox of Boston, Garry of Dracut, Gordon of Bedford, Hunt of Boston, Khan of Newton, Sannicandro of Ashland and Rogers of Norwood move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4000-0300, by adding the following: "provided further, that no less than $500,000 be expended by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services to purchase state-of-the-art decision support software in order to implement both an adult and pediatric traumatic brain injury savings pilot program in 5 Massachusetts trauma hospitals’ Intensive Care Units to assess and improve real time compliance with evidence based medicine best practices in the treatment of adult and pediatric severe traumatic brain injury that has been shown in other states to significantly improve patient outcomes and reduce health care costs”.
