Amendment #576 to H4200

Afterschool and Out-of-School Time Coordinating Council Extension

Representatives Benson of Lunenburg, Hecht of Watertown, Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Keefe of Worcester, Khan of Newton, Cantwell of Marshfield, Ashe of Longmeadow and Gonzalez of Springfield move to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION XX. Section 1 of chapter 254 of the acts of 2012 is hereby amended by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:-

(b) Council members shall be appointed for a term of 6 years.  The council shall meet 4 times annually.  After the first 6 years, the council shall evaluate the progress of its efforts and shall disband unless a majority of the members recognize a continuing need for the council to exist”.
