An Amendment to require social Security Verification for Housing Assistance

Representatives Diehl of Whitman and DeCoste of Norwell move that the bill be amended by adding the following Section:-

Section XX: notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development shall establish rules and regulations reflective of 24 CFR 5.216 requiring disclosure and verification of Social Security and Employer Identification Numbers for applicants of public or subsidized housing and further requiring housing agencies to verify the number.
