Amendment #696 to H4200
relative to district determined measures
Representatives Decker of Cambridge and Smizik of Brookline move that the bill be amended by inserting after Section XX the following new sections:
SECTION XX: Section 38 of Chapter 71 of the General Law, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “The”, in line 37, the following words:- “principles and”
and is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 77, the words “regulations of the board” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “with this section and chapter 150E”
SECTION XX: Section 1B of Chapter 59 of the General Law, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “standards.”, in line 78, the following words:-
Notwithstanding any other provision of the general or special laws, the board shall not mandate any school district to include as part of an educator evaluation system or as a teacher performance standard the use of student performance data that is intended to measure an individual educator’s impact on student learning, growth, or achievement.
