Amendment #719 to H4200

An Amendment Relative to Proof of Residency

Representatives Lombardo of Billerica, O'Connell of Taunton and Diehl of Whitman move to amend the bill by adding the following new section: 

 

SECTION XX: The General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, are hereby amended by inserting after chapter 117A the following new chapter:--

 

Chapter 117B: Residency Requirements for Public Benefits.  Section 1. Self-declaration of residency shall not be accepted as a valid form of residency verification for individuals applying for taxpayer-funded individual benefits from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Councils on Aging are exempt from this requirement.
