Amendment #766 to H4200

Police Assisted Addiction Recovery Initiative Study

Ms. Ferrante of Gloucester moves to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 8000-0010 the following item:

 

"8000-XXXX Not less than $100,000 shall be expended for the Police Assisted Addiction Recovery Initiative (P.A.A.R.I.) to conduct a baseline study of Massachusetts police departments’ substance abuse treatment programs, and P.A.A.R.I. shall report on the findings of the baseline study and provide recommendations to the Chairs of the House and Senate Committees on Ways and Means and the Chairs of the Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse not later than March 1, 2017; provided further, that not less than $180,000 shall be expended for case management of said program participants; and provided further, that not less than $100,000 shall be expended for P.A.A.R.I. participant follow-up and data collection at 6 and 12 months after completing treatment. $380,000.”
