Transitions to Work

Representatives Sannicandro of Ashland, Ashe of Longmeadow, Benson of Lunenburg, Cantwell of Marshfield, Cullinane of Boston, Cusack of Braintree, Rogers of Cambridge, Moran of Lawrence, Decker of Cambridge, Fox of Boston, Gonzalez of Springfield, Gordon of Bedford, Heroux of Attleboro, Keefe of Worcester, Khan of Newton, Linsky of Natick, Madden of Nantucket, McMurtry of Dedham, Provost of Somerville, Schmid of Westport, Scibak of South Hadley and Tosado of Springfield move to amend the bill in section 2, by inserting after item 7003-0606, the following item:-

 

“7003-0607 For employment training program for unemployed or underemployed young adults with disabilities, provided that funds shall be awarded competitively by the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development to community-based organizations with recognized success in creating strong collaborations with employers to consider young adults with disabilities; provided further that said organization shall provide extensive training and internship programming and ongoing post-placement support for participants and employers …$250,000".
