Amendment #853 to H4200

School Resource Officer Training Program

Representatives Cantwell of Marshfield, Dykema of Holliston, Fox of Boston, Diehl of Whitman, Khan of Newton, McMurtry of Dedham, Hecht of Watertown, Garry of Dracut, Heroux of Attleboro, Calter of Kingston and Cutler of Duxbury move to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 8200-0200 the following item:

"8200-XXXX For the Municipal Police Training Committee to develop, in consultation with local law enforcement and experts in adolescent development and policing youth, a school resource officer training program for said officers, administrators, and police supervisors on training topics including, but not limited to, memorandum of understanding, adolescent development, juvenile law, and de-escalation and diversion techniques, and to provide grants covering training costs, such as shift backfill for attending officers......400,000".
