Amendment #955 to H4200

CPR Training for Students

Representatives McMurtry of Dedham, Ashe of Longmeadow, Cantwell of Marshfield, D'Emilia of Bridgewater, Fiola of Fall River, Garballey of Arlington, Kafka of Stoughton, Khan of Newton, McKenna of Webster, Moran of Lawrence, Muratore of Plymouth, O'Day of West Boylston, Puppolo of Springfield and Rogers of Norwood move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4590-0250 by striking out the figure "$11,932,830" and inserting in place thereof the figure "$12,282,830" and by inserting at the end thereof the following language: For grants of no less than $350,000 to provide enrolled students’ instruction in hand-on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The instruction must be based on an instructional program established by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross or another program nationally recognized and uses the most current national evidence−based Emergency Cardiovascular Care guidelines“.
