Amendment #957 to H4200

Alzheimer’s Public Awareness and Education

Representatives Garlick of Needham, DiZoglio of Methuen, Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Dwyer of Woburn, Vega of Holyoke, Stanley of Waltham, Walsh of Framingham, Ayers of Quincy, Donahue of Worcester, Khan of Newton and Brodeur of Melrose move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4513-1111, by adding the following: “; and provided further, that not less than $200,000 be expended for statewide Alzheimer’s public awareness and education, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, including the early warning signs of Alzheimer's disease, access to patient services, importance of early diagnosis, and the importance of family caregiver education and support, to be administered through a grant to statewide Alzheimer's advocacy and education organizations” and in said item by striking out the figures “$3,599,010” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$3,799,010”.
