Amendment #980 to H4200

Prostate Cancer Education and Awareness

Representatives Fox of Boston, Holmes of Boston, Sannicandro of Ashland and Ayers of Quincy move to amend the bill in section 2, in line item 4590-0925, by inserting after “health care costs” the following: "provided further that not less than $250,000 shall be expended to a nonprofit prostate health education network that has led prostate cancer education, counseling, awareness efforts, and direct services to address the men with the highest rate of prostate cancer incidence and mortality within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and to support an on-going effort that involves cancer centers, faith-based and other community-based organizations targeting the African American community since 2003" and in said item by striking out the figures “$250,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$750,000”.
