Reducing the Cost of Textbooks

Representatives Garballey of Arlington, Rogers of Cambridge, McMurtry of Dedham, O'Connell of Taunton, Velis of Westfield, Khan of Newton, O'Day of West Boylston, Sannicandro of Ashland, Benson of Lunenburg, Rogers of Norwood and Fox of Boston move to amend the bill by adding the following outside section:

"Section XXXX. The Department of Higher Education is hereby authorized and directed to establish suggested guidelines and protocols in accordance with U.S. Department of Education Regulation 668.164 to encourage and assist Colleges and Universities with the implementation of programs which reduce the cost of textbooks and other educational materials.".
