MA Building Trades Council Amendment to Strike Section 201 from HB4397

Representatives Donahue of Worcester, Provost of Somerville, Decker of Cambridge, Keefe of Worcester, Ryan of Boston, Mark of Peru, Livingstone of Boston, Kocot of Northampton, Vega of Holyoke, Gentile of Sudbury, Chan of Quincy, Barber of Somerville, Day of Stoneham and Ashe of Longmeadow move to amend the bill by striking out the following section:

SECTION 201. Said subsection 2 of said section 44A of chapter 149, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after paragraph (G) the following new paragraph:-

(H) Notwithstanding paragraphs (A) and (B), the installation, repair and maintenance of telecommunication and data cabling and wiring; telecommunication, security, audiovisual and computer equipment; and carpeting, shall be procured subject to the provisions of section 22 of chapter 7 and sections 51 and 52 of chapter 30 , unless the public agency makes a determination that it is in the best interest of the project that such services be procured through section 39M of chapter 30 or sections 44A to 44J, inclusive, of chapter 149
