Tech amend

Mr. Dempsey of Haverhill moves to amend the bill by striking out, in line 93, the words “procurements in amounts” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “any procurement in an amount”;             

by striking out, in line 184, the words “or trustees”;

by striking out, in lines 347, 354 and 357, the word “region” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- “entity”;

by striking out, in line 358, the words “or employee”;

by striking out, in line 364, the word “region” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- “entity”;

by striking out, in lines 411 and 412, the words “, or as authorized by law,”;

by striking out section 22 of the bill and inserting in place thereof the following section:-  “SECTION 22.  Section 2B of said chapter 40, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 and 2, the words “Any city or town having installed parking meters or coin-operated locking devices for bicycle parking” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-  In any city or town that accepts this section and installs parking meters or coin-operated locking devices for bicycle parking, the city or town”;

by striking out, in lines 684 and 692, the words “its next meeting” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- “the first meeting following such action”;

by inserting after the word “may”, in line 700, the following words:- “establish and”;

by striking out sections 52 and 53 of the bill;

by inserting, in line 1206, after the word “district”, the following words:- “to conduct said audit”;

by striking out, in lines 1214 and 1215, the words “for such purpose” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “to conduct such audits”;

by striking out, in line 1266, the words “accounting” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “auditors, accounting officers”;

by striking out section 81 of the bill and inserting in place thereof the following section:- “SECTION 81.  Said section 53F of said chapter 44, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out the fourth paragraph.”

by inserting, after section 81 of the bill, the following section:- “SECTION 81A.  Said section 53F of said chapter 44, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out the sixth paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:- A treasurer or collector who has entered into an agreement pursuant to this section shall produce an annual report in order to determine whether funds maintained on deposit with a banking institution have exceeded the amount required by said agreement.  Such report shall identify each banking institution with which such agreement was maintained in the year covered by the report, and the average daily amount, if any, maintained on deposit with such banking institution in excess of the amount necessary to fulfill the terms of agreement.  A copy of such report shall be provided to the collector or treasurer, the mayor and city council, the selectmen, the regional school committee, the prudential committee, if any, otherwise the commissioners, of the city, town, or district, and a copy of the same shall be furnished to the inspector general.”;

by striking out, in line 2173, the words “Section 4” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “The second paragraph of Section 4”;

by striking out section 201 of the bill;

by inserting, in line 2329, after the word “Sections” the following figure:- “12,”; and

by striking out, in line 2333, the figure “213” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- “205”.
