Amendment #17 to H4461

Hamilton Canal District

Representatives Nangle of Lowell, Golden of Lowell and Mom of Lowell move to amend the bill by adding at the end the following section:-

Section XX. The Commonwealth shall allocate, encumber, and spend no less than $ 15 million dollars in newly authorized economic development funds in partnership with, and direct support of/ to, the City of Lowell, by a date no later than June 30, 2017, in order to assist, prompt, implement, subsidize and further the approved Master Plan for the Hamilton Canal District in Lowell and its parcel's private development, as contemplated and contained therein, with directed focus on the initial phases; all with the expressed goal to spur jobs, construction and physical progress with private development within the District by June 30, 2018."
