Protecting Community Shared Solar and Low-Income Customers

Mr. Hecht of Watertown moves to amend the bill by striking out section 3 and inserting in place thereof the following text:

SECTION 3.

“Section 138 of said chapter 164, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the definition of “Customer” the following definition:-

“Market net metering credit,” a credit equal to the excess kilowatt-hours by time of use billing period, if applicable, multiplied by the average monthly energy clearing price in the ISO-NE zone in which the net metering facility is located; provided, however, that the market net metering credit for community shared solar generation units under 225 CMR 14.02 shall equal the applicable Class I, Class II or Class III net metering credit as defined in section 138 of this chapter.”

; and further by striking out in line 69 the word “may” and inserting in place thereof the following word: "shall".
