Improve Medical Adherence

Mr. Donnelly moves to amend the bill by inserting after section XX the following section:-

SECTION XX:  Section 1 of Chapter 94C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking the definition of “Administer” and inserting in place thereof the following definition:-

“Administer”, the direct application of a controlled substance whether by injection, inhalation, ingestion or any other means to the body of a patient or research subject by—

(a) a practitioner, or

(b) a nurse or registered pharmacist at the direction of a practitioner in the course of his professional practice, or

(c) an ultimate user or research subject at the direction of a practitioner in the course of his professional practice.
