Mandated Reporter

Messrs. Tarr and Moore move to amend the bill by inserting after section 5 the following new section:-

"SECTION __ section 51A of Chapter 119 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following subsection: -

(k) A mandated reporter who has reasonable cause to believe that a child has been living with someone other than the child's family for more than 6 months or if there is reason to suspect that a child has been living with someone other than the child's family for more than 12 months or greater pursuant to a power of attorney or other non-judicial authorization shall within 48 hours file a written report with the department."
