First Time Violation

Messrs. Tarr and Ross move to amend the bill in Section 3, by striking subsection (b) and replacing it with the following:- “(b) Whoever violates this section shall be punished by a fine of $100 for a first offense, by a fine of $250 for a second offense and by a fine of $500 for a third or subsequent offense, provided further, that the fine shall be suspended for a first time violator who provides proof of acquisition of a hands-free accessory subsequent to the violation but prior to the imposition of a fine subject to regulations promulgated by the executive office of public safety.”
