Abatement Extension

Mr. Tarr moves to amend the amendment by inserting after SECTION 12 the following section:-

SECTION _.Section 59 of Chapter 59 of the General Laws, as so appearing is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:

Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, when the last day for making an application for abatement of tax falls on a Saturday, Sunday, legal holiday, or day on which municipal offices are closed as authorized by charter, by-law, ordinance or otherwise for a weather-related or public safety emergency, the application may be made on the next day on which a municipal office is open.
