TNC License Plate and Registration

Mr. McGee moves to amend the amendment in subsection 2 of Section 3 by striking clause (b) in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following:-

“(b) In consultation with the division, the registry to motor vehicles shall provide for the establishment of designated Transportation Network Company vehicle registration and license plates. Said plates shall clearly indicate that the registered vehicle is used for the purpose of providing ride for hire services. A transportation network driver who ceases to be certified to provide transportation network services for any reason shall return the registration and license plates within 14 days of that cessation to the registry of motor vehicles in the manner and form prescribed by the registry.”

And in subsection 5 of Section 3 by striking it in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following:-

“Notwithstanding the provisions of Chapter 175 of the General Laws or any other special or general law to the contrary, every registered transportation network company vehicle shall maintain commercial automobile insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 in bodily injury coverage.”
