Computer Science Education for Workforce Development (MassCAN)

Ms. Donoghue, Ms. L'Italien and Mr. Lewis moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, by inserting after item 7007-0952 the following item:- “7007-1202 For the Massachusetts Technology Park Corporation established in section 3 of chapter 40J of the General Laws to develop and implement a plan to promote and establish computer science education in public schools as required by section 6I of chapter 40J of the General Laws; provided, that the Massachusetts Technology Park Corporation shall seek out matching private funds equal to $1 for every $1 contributed by the corporation; provided further, that a report shall be filed with the chairs of the house and senate committees on ways and means and the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on economic development and emerging technologies that includes a 3-year strategic plan, annual goals and progress in achieving those goals; and provided further, that said report shall be published on the Massachusetts Technology Park Corporation’s website...........................................................................................$1,700,000”
