Algae Cleanup
Mr. McGee, Ms. Forry and Mr. Keenan moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 2810-0100, by adding at the end the following: “provided that no less than $50,000 shall be expended for the cleanup of Pilayella algae on Kings Beach and Long Beach in the city of Lynn;” and in said item by striking the figures "$37,428,430" and inserting in place thereof the figures "$37,478,430"
and in section 2, after item 2800-0401, by adding the following new item:
“2800-0500 For the existing maintenance, operational and infrastructure needs of the metropolitan beaches as set forth in section 70 of chapter 3 of the General Laws; provided, that not less than $900,000 shall be expended for the Metropolitan Beaches in Lynn, Nahant, Revere, Winthrop, East Boston, South Boston, Dorchester, Quincy and Hull to be fully maintained and seasonally staffed as recommended by the Metropolitan Beaches Commission in coordination with the Department of Conservation and Recreation;............. $900,000”
