Duties of Committee Chairs

Mr. Rush moves to amend the order by striking out, in paragraph 6 of section 1D, the words “If a Chair is unable to carry out the Chair’s duties through death, disability, resignation, removal from office, leave of absence or illness for greater than 30 days, then the office of the chair shall be considered vacated and the Vice Chair shall immediately assume the duties as acting Chair until such time as a new Chair is appointed.”; and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-

If a Chair is unable to carry out the Chair’s duties through death, disability, resignation, removal from office, military duty, leave of absence or illness for greater than 60 days, the Vice Chair shall assume the duties as acting Chair until such time as new Chair may be appointed.
