Amendment #1125 to H3600

Worcester County Clerk of Courts 1

Representatives O'Day of West Boylston, Donahue of Worcester, Keefe of Worcester and Mahoney of Worcester move to amend the bill by adding following new sections:-

 

Section 6A

Shall be amended by striking, "justices of the superior court" and replacing it with, "Clerk of Courts."

 

Section 6A: Superior court for county of Middlesex; equity clerk

Section 6A. The justices of the superior court may designate, for a term of three years from the date of such designation, one of the assistant clerks for the county of Middlesex, appointed under section five, to perform, under the direction of the clerk of the courts for the county of Middlesex, the duties of clerk pertaining to actions in which equitable relief is sought in said court, who shall receive from said county, in addition to the salary paid to him as an assistant clerk under section four or section five, as the case may be, a sum equivalent to five per cent of the salary of the clerk.

 

Section 6B

Shall be amended by striking, " justices of the superior court" and replacing it with, "Clerk of Courts."

 

Section 6B: Superior court for county of Essex; equity clerk

Section 6B. The justices of the superior court may designate, for a term of three years from the date of such designation, one of the assistant clerks for the county of Essex, appointed under section five, to perform, under the direction of the clerk of the courts for the county of Essex, the duties of clerk pertaining to actions in which equitable relief is sought in said court, who shall receive from said county, in addition to the salary paid to him as an assistant clerk under section four, a sum equivalent to five per cent of the salary of the clerk.

Section 6C. The justices of the superior court may designate, for a term of three years from the date of such designation, one of the assistant clerks for the county of Essex, appointed under section five, to perform, under the direction of the clerk of the courts for the county of Essex, the duties of clerk pertaining to the criminal proceedings in said court, who shall receive from said county, in addition to the salary paid to him as an assistant clerk under section four, a sum equivalent to ten per cent of the salary of the clerk.

 

Section 6E

Shall be amended by striking, " justices of the superior court" and replacing it with, "Clerk of Courts."

The justices of the superior court may designate, for a term of three years from the date of such designation, one of the assistant clerks for the county of Worcester, appointed under section five, to perform, under the direction of the clerk of the courts for the county of Worcester, the duties of clerk pertaining to the equity proceedings in said court, and such other duties as the clerk shall determine, who shall receive from said county, in addition to the salary paid to him as an assistant clerk under section four, a sum equivalent to five per cent of the salary of the clerk.

Section 6I. The justices of the superior court may designate for a term of three years from the date of such designation, one of the assistant clerks for the county of Plymouth, to perform, under the direction of the clerk of courts for the county of Plymouth, the duties of clerk pertaining to the equity proceedings of said court, who shall receive from said county, in addition to the salary paid to him as an assistant clerk, a sum equivalent to five per cent of the salary of the clerk.

 

 

Section 6J

Shall be amended by striking, " justices of the superior court" and replacing it with, "Clerk of Courts."

The justices of the superior court may designate, for a term of three years from the date of such designation, one of the assistant clerks for the county of Hampden, appointed under section five, to perform under the direction of the clerk of courts for the county of Hampden, the duties of clerk pertaining to the equity proceedings in said court, and such other duties as the clerk shall determine, who shall receive from said county, in addition to the salary paid to him as an assistant clerk under section four, a sum equivalent to five per cent of the salary of the clerk.
