Amendment #119 to H3600

Economic Development

Mrs. Haddad of Somerset moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7007-0300, in line 3, by inserting after the word “industries” the following; “; provided further, that not less than $600,000 shall be allocated to the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and to the SouthCoast Development Partnership Program at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to promote and support economic partnerships and technological advancements through investments necessary to connect early stage entrepreneurs, innovators and technology-based start-ups, including but not limited to, entrepreneurs actively engaged in the fields of biomedical engineering, clean technology and marine technology, with workforce development programs, strategic business planning resources, technical support services and access to and use of state of the art incubator space to support the growth of early-stage entrepreneurs, innovators and technology-based start-ups, and further for the purposes of regional economic development and workforce readiness.”; and in said item by striking out the figures “$1,489,838” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$2,089,838.”
