Amendment #31 to H3600
SNAP Gap Common Application
Representatives Livingstone of Boston and Khan of Newton move to amend the bill in section 2, by inserting after item 4000-0300 the following new line item and appropriation:
"XXXX-XXXX For the development and support of a common application option in order to reduce duplication and administrative burden on both low income residents of the Commonwealth and the departments of Medicaid and Transitional Assistance; provided further, the department of Medicaid shall provide each MassHealth applicant and recipient with gross income below two hundred percent of the federal poverty level with the opportunity to initiate an application for federally-funded supplemental nutrition assistance benefits at the same time as their application or renewal for MassHealth; provided further, the Department of Medicaid shall readily transmit said SNAP application and relevant eligibility information to the department of Transitional Assistance for a determination of eligibility; provided further, that the executive office of health and human services shall provide a report not later than October 1, 2017 to the executive office for administration and finance and the house and senate committees for ways and means on the status of the additional costs and federal reimbursement opportunities involved in the development of the common application option …. $2,000,000";
and further moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4400-1100, by striking out the figures "71,349,034" and inserting in place thereof the figures "$73,349,034".
