Greater New Bedford Food Initiative

Mr. Straus of Mattapoisett moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 2511-0100, by adding the following: “provided that not less than $50,000 shall be expended for the administration of a food initiative within the Greater New Bedford region to help tree owners grow healthy fruit, provide assistance in harvesting and preserving fruit, promote the sharing of extra fruit, and work to protect and foster the growth of urban and community fruit trees.”
