Amendment #35 to H3768

Marijuana Cultivation and Energy Use

Mr. Chan of Quincy moves to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after the word, “pesticides;” line 623, the following clause:-

19.5. in consultation with the department of energy resources, establish energy management standards for the cultivation, processing, and manufacturing of marijuana and marijuana products including, but not limited to: annual energy audits; energy efficiency measures; energy conservation measures; and energy conservation projects as defined in section 1 of chapter 164.

and further amend said section 2 by inserting after the words “the commissioner of agricultural resources or his or her designee;” in lines 1456 and 1457, the following:-  the commissioner of the department of energy resources or his or her designee;

and further amend said section 2 by striking out in lines 1458 and 1459, the words “12 members who shall be appointed by the treasurer and receiver general who shall consist of: 1 expert in marijuana cultivation,” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- 13 members who shall be appointed by the treasurer and receiver general who shall consist of: 1 expert in marijuana cultivation, 1 individual with knowledge and experience in energy management services,
