Felony & Misdemeanor Lookback Period

Mr. Carvalho of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 2, in line 79, by striking out the word “relevant” and inserting in place thereof the word “substantial”; in section 3, in line 408, by inserting after “felony” the following sentence: “in the past 10 years”; in section 17, in line 1012, by inserting after “felony” the following sentence: “in the past 10 years”; in section 17, in line 1012, by striking out “other crimes” and inserting in place thereof the word “misdemeanors”; in section 17, in line 1013, by inserting after “perjury” the following sentence: “in the past 5 years”; in section 17, in line 1014, by inserting after “prior acts” the following sentence: “in the past 10 years”; in section 21, in line 1133, by inserting after “felony” the following sentence: “in the past 10 years”; in section 21, in line 1135, by striking out “a criminal and arrest record”; in section 21, in line 1142, by inserting after “felony” the following sentence: “in the past 10 years”; in section 21, in lines 1146 and 1147, by striking out “is unable to verify that he or she has not been convicted of a felony” and inserting in place thereof the following sentence: “has been convicted of a felony in the past ten years”.
