Allowance of Transit-Specific Regulations by the OSHA Board

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Hill of Ipswich, Poirier of North Attleborough, Gifford of Wareham, Frost of Auburn and Smola of Warren moves to amend the amendment in subsection (b) of SECTION 2, after 29 U.S.C. 654, by inserting the following: “,except as provided in subsection (d) of this section.”,

And further moves to amend the bill, in subsection (d),  of SECTION 2, by inserting after the word “authorities” the following:- “, and the department shall, after consulting with the advisory board, adopt transit-specific regulations for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority including provisions establishing appropriate dates for the implementation of the requirements of this section and such waivers, exemptions and variances from the requirements of this section, as appropriate for the operation and maintenance of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority system. “
